Onno Zeijlstra Practice Owner
I grew up in this neighborhood as the son of a wine merchant, studied medicine in Amsterdam and finished my schooling as a general practitioner in Scotland and on the island Curaçao. Since then I have been almost continuously working as a general practitioner in Amsterdam. On May 1, 2018, I started with my new practice – Vijzelgracht Huisartsen.
In this practice, I intend to use the possibilities that modern technology offers more intensively to be able to advise you and treat you online. On the other hand, when you come to the practice I will have more time for you. Do not worry that you will only be able to reach me via the internet. I am not an ICT-expert myself, and will only use the most simple and user-friendly applications.
Manuela Simic Mental Health Professional
On Thursday and Friday I work as POH-GGZ (nurse practitioner GGZ practice assistant) and offer support and guidance to patients with psychological, psychosocial and psychosomatic complaints. The support is short-term, solution-oriented and easily accessible. Patients who are referred to basic mental healthcare or specialist mental healthcare can also contact me for bridging.
My approach is aimed at increasing self-insight, autonomy, and emotional resilience.
The purpose of this is to work towards healthy and well-functioning behavior patterns. During the guidance and support, I work with methods from schema therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-oriented therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and mindfulness.
I have almost 15 years of experience in the field of psychosocial support. During and after my SPH (Social Pedagogical Assistance) study, I worked at various institutions in Amsterdam with clients with very different complaints and backgrounds. In 2019 I took the step to be retrained as a practice nurse for GGZ general practitioner care. In addition, I also work at another general practice in Amsterdam.
