My name is Faiza Hussain. Born in 1989 in Amsterdam. Three years ago I moved to Hoofddorp with my partner and daughter.
Graduated in 2011 as a nurse. In 2013 I started as a district nurse at Cordaan, in the center of Amsterdam. I did this with great joy, but in September 2018 I started training as a nurse specialist.
I will be educated more broadly for two years and I will be allowed to work on the frontier of care and treatment for a specific patient group.
Over the next two years, you will see me in practice on Thursdays and Fridays. If you have any question feel free to ask me those!
I followed the medical training at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and completed it in 2018. Before my training as a doctor, I worked in the gynecology department for 2.5 years, so I still have an affinity with this field. My other areas of interest are minor surgical procedures and vulnerable elderly people.
As a working mother of two young children, I can very well understand that it is very pleasant to also reach your doctor via the internet. A very nice side effect is that I, therefore, have more time for my patients in the consultation room.
My vision is: Modern GP care, but involved in the old-fashioned way!
I grew up in this neighborhood as the son of a wine merchant, studied medicine in Amsterdam and finished my schooling as a general practitioner in Scotland and on the island Curaçao. Since then I have been almost continuously working as a general practitioner in Amsterdam. On May 1, 2018, I started with my new practice – Vijzelgracht Huisartsen.
In this practice, I intend to use the possibilities that modern technology offers more intensively to be able to advise you and treat you online. On the other hand, when you come to the practice I will have more time for you. Do not worry that you will only be able to reach me via the internet. I am not an ICT-expert myself, and will only use the most simple and user-friendly applications.
